Shaping the future of fundraising
GM, GM!
You know how we break down the Web3 use cases every week in 4.3 minutes:
π° The challenge
π‘ The solution
π Take away for other industries
Today Iβm writing about Donations meets Web3.
π° The challenge
Do you know what happens to the money you donate?
No?
That's the case for many people.
Especially with large organizations, you are often not sure if the money really goes where it is needed.
So people tend not to donate at all.
Also, many donors are over the age of 60. Are younger generations less generous, or are NGOs simply not reaching Gen Y & Z?
Many organizations depend on donations and can't do anything without them.
π‘ The solution
The German startup Aiddrop wants to help.
Their goal is to make donation processes more transparent and easier.
On their platform you can donate in crypto (ETH). All you have to do is log in with your wallet.
You will then receive a so-called "Proof of Donation". This proof of donation is tamper-proof and cannot be given to third parties because it is a Soulbound NFT on the Ethereum blockchain.
But that is not all.
Aiddrop wants to use the "Proof of Donation" ecosystem to connect all donors so they can share information with each other.
Small local organizations to international NGOs in over 26 categories are already using the platform, free of charge.
π Take away for other industries
It's not always about increasing sales through NFT drops.
You don't have to think only in terms of marketing data.
Technology can often do some good.
And simplify processes.
Can you streamline processes in your business?
Can you do good automatically through smart contracts?
Maybe support NGOs with a fixed percentage?
Help local organizations?
Think about it and let me know what organization you would donate to.
For example, one of my last donations went to Children's Cancer Aid.
I know this is not the most happy topic, but it is all the more important to talk about it.
Read you next week!
